Snapple and its competitorsRemember when Snapple used to be really cool?  There were the Snapple lady commercials where she would answer random questions about Snapple.  Then all of a sudden, one day they were gone.  Snapple was still around but for unknown reasons they didn’t feel the need to advertise anymore.

Wendy the Snapple Lady  On the random occasions that I walk into a gas station, or on the more frequent occasions that I go to Walgreen’s when I’m not on my way home (you know, where the beverages are free) I always buy some kind of Snapple product.  I even found Snapple tea (like the kind that you brew for a hot cup of tea) and felt compelled to buy it.

And the reason why I think I keep buying Snapple products is because of the little bits of random information that can be found on the inside of their lids.  Not only is my thirst being quenched, but I’m learning something.

Here’s the Snapple “fact” quote ...

I honestly think I’ve never had a sip of Snapple. Not one.

You don’t know what you’re missing. It’s the best stuff on earth!

oh yeah I remember the Snapple commercials. I think my aunt and uncle used to buy it by the case load.

It was the economical way to buy it. I think I did that a few times.

I used to chew some kind of bazooka gum for the jokes inside.

I guess we all have our vices.

I miss the old Snapple commercials. I used to practically live on Snapple Raspberry Iced Tea! When I was in college, I would go to the wholesale club with my mom and buy cases of the stuff to take back with me to school.
My diet that first year: Snapple, ramen noodles, coffee! Yeah….living the high life! I also miss hearing Howard Stern do live commercials for them…not that I’m a big fan of the guy now, but back then, it was so cool that in the midst of the chaos of his show, he would break to read “Snapple - Made From The Best Stuff on Earth!”. He even did live commercial reads for Snapple on his short lived USA network tv show…wow, can’t believe I just remembered all that….

I forgot Howard Stern did some of the commercials! I just remember Wendy the Snapple Lady. I lived on Strawberry Kiwi, ramen noodles and coffee (I didn’t go away to college but I moved out after my mom got remarried and that was the lifestyle I could afford while keeping a roof over my head).
